Ep. 1 Carla Vaca Pinacho

Carla Vaca Pinacho was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She moved to the United States at the age of 6 with her family. She works as a DEI Project Coordinator within the Tourism Industry. She attained a bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina where she majored in Tourism Management.

Ep. 2 Julio Domingo

Julio Domingo is a junior at the University of South Carolina studying Political Science. He is the current President of the Latin American Student Organization.

Ep. 3 Joel Torres

Joel Torres is American-Hondureño that grew up in Los Angeles, California. Currently, Joel is a Realtor in Charleston, SC and holds different leadership positions in the community.

Ep. 4 Tim Gasparik

Tim Gasparik is an ESOL & Spanish Teacher in Summerville, SC. He recieved his Bachelor’s degree at the College of Charleston where he majored in Education and Spanish.

Ep. 5 Kimberly Briseño

Kimberly Briseño is a Lead Project Coordinator in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She graduated from the University of South Carolina where she majored in Biology. Her parents are from El Salvador and Mexico.

Ep. 6 Ashley Rojas

Ashley Rojas is an Economics PhD candidate at the University of South Carolina. Her parents and from Mexico and Ecuador.

Ep. 7 Marco Torres

Marco Torres was born in Puerto Rico, and grew up in Los Angeles, California. He founded the Torres Law firm in 2005 which specializes in immigration & criminal defense services.

Season 1

Ep. 1 Antonio Velasquez

Antonio was born and raised in South Carolina. His parents migrated from Guatemala to the United States in 1989. In 2020, Antonio founded The Velasquez Company. TVC is a painting company located in Summerville, SC. His long-term vision for the company is to become the go-to painting contractor in the Lowcountry for commercial and residential work.

Ep. 2 Denise Garcia Mesa

Denise was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. Currently, she is studying Computer Science at the University of South Carolina. She is the current President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) ‘23-‘24 at UofSC.

Ep. 3 Ana Perez

Ana Perez is a Special Education Teacher in South Carolina. Her parents are from Guatemala & El Salvador. She was the first person in her family to pursue a bachelor's degree. She discusses the challenges she faced as a first generation college student and her experience as a young professional.

Ep. 4 Jonathan Carmenate

Jonathan Carmenate is a proud Cuban American born and raised in Miami, Florida. Currently, Jonathan and his beautiful family reside in South Carolina where they founded Avita's Cuban Cuisine. His goal entails creating a community with hospitality and tasty food.

Ep. 5 Orlando Torres

Orlando Torres was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He has a broad range of professional experience from being a securities lending trader in Japan to working in IT for a bank to becoming a Mortgage Loan Officer.

Ep. 6 Dr. Miramontes

Dr. Miramontes is currently a resident at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She was born and raised in Indiana where she later received her bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. She received her M.D. & Master's in Public Health at the University of Miami. Her parents are from Jalisco, Mexico.

Ep. 7 Zolia Velasquez

Zoila Velasquez is the CEO of Zoe's Cleaning. She has built several cleaning businesses from the bottom up to only transition the businesses to other women looking to have a company of their own. She crossed the Guatemalan/Mexican border & the Mexican/US border at the age of 14.
